The Old Vic to stream Jekyll and Hyde for free online

The Old Vic is to stream Drew McOnie’s Jekyll and Hyde for free online.

Inspired by Robert Louis Stevenson’s The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, the dance production is devised, directed and choreographed by Olivier Award winner Drew McOnie.

With music by Grant Olding, the cast includes Ashley Andrews, Joao Carolino, Carrie Taylor Johnson, Anabel Kutay, Ebony Molina, Fraya Rowley, Alexzandra Sarmiento, Barnaby Thompson and Jason Winter.

The production will go live on The Old Vic’s YouTube page at 7PM BST on Wednesday August 5 and will be available to watch for a week until 7PM BST Wednesday August 12.

Although available for free, donations are encouraged to support the venue especially amid the ongoing pandemic.

The Old Vic said: “With heartfelt thanks to the generosity of all the casts, creatives and companies involved, a selection of full length Old Vic archive recordings of selected productions since Matthew Warchus became Artistic Director in 2015 will be hosted for free on The Old Vic’s YouTube channel.”

“This will give audiences the chance to revisit loved collector’s item productions, or watch for the first time.”
