Here’s a schedule of cast recording release dates of new upcoming cast albums out in 2021.

From new musicals and recent rivals to concept albums and musical film soundtracks, here are all the upcoming releases you need to be aware of.


2021 Cast Recording Release Dates

In Pieces (Highlights Album) – 16 April – DOWNLOAD/STREAM HERE
A highlights album featuring songs from Joey Contreras song cycle In Pieces is to be released. A host of talented stars will feature on the album including Solea Pfeiffer (Hamilton), Andrew Barth Feldman (Dear Evan Hansen) and George Salazar (Be More Chill). They’ll be joined by Ashley De La Rosa, Ben Fankhauser, Natalie Weiss, Sean Doherty, Mia Gerachis and Brian Russell Carey & more.


Ride the Cyclone (World Premiere Cast Recording) – 7 May – DOWNLOAD/STREAM HERE
First premiering in Toronto in 2011, Ride the Cyclone features music, lyrics and book by Jacob Richmond and Brooke Maxwell. The premiere cast recording features Tiffany Tatreau, Lillian Castillo, Chaz Duffy, Scott Redmond, Emily Rohm and Kholby Wardell.


Rumi: The Musical (Concept Album) – 18 June – DOWNLOAD/STREAM HERE
New musical Rumi is to be released as a concept album. The piece has been created by Dana Al Fardan and Nadim Naaman, based on a story by Evren Sharma. The musical will launch with a full length concept album this Spring starring Ramin Karimloo and Nadim Naaman. The pair head a West End cast comprising entirely of performers of Middle Eastern, North African and South Asian heritage.


In the Heights (Movie Soundtrack) – 11 June – DOWNLOAD/STREAM/CD HERE
The official soundtrack for the big screen version of the Tony and Olivier award-winning musical with a cast featuring Anthony Ramos, Corey Hawkins, Melissa Barrera, Leslie Grace, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Stephanie Beatriz, Dascha Polanco, Olga Merediz, Jimmy Smits, Gregory Diaz IV, Noah Catala, Marc Anthony and Lin-Manuel Miranda.


Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cinderella (Original Cast Recording) – 9 July – DOWNLOAD/STREAM/CD HERE
Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cinderella features music from Webber with lyrics by David Zippel and an original story and book by Emerald Fennel. Teased as a new, modern spin on the all time classic fairytale, Carrie Hope Fletcher was previously confirmed to play the title role with Victoria Hamilton-Barritt as the Stepmother. Back To The Future (West End Cast Recording) – Summer 2021
Back to the Future follows Marty McFly who finds himself travelling back in time 30 years thanks to a time-traveling DeLorean created by Dr. Emmett “Doc” Brown. Olly Dobson stars in the role of Marty McFly with Doc Brown played by Roger Bart. They’re joined by Hugh Coles, Rosanna Hyland, Cedric Neal, Aidan Cutler and Courtney-Mae Briggs.


For Tonight (Concept Album) – Summer 2021
This bilingual musical has riveting score with an atmospheric soundscape blends traditional Welsh choral, indie-pop, folk, and Romani inspired melodies and rhythms. At its core, For Tonight is an exploration of the power and meaning of home. For Tonight has a book, music and lyrics by Shenelle Salcido & Spencer Williams, with additional book by Whitney Rhodes.


Diana (Broadway Cast Recording) – 24 September
Premiering on Netflix in October ahead of its Broadway bow in November, Diana is the electrifying new musical about a woman who chose to be fearless, and as a result became timeless. The piece was written by Joe DiPietro and David Bryan and is directed by Tony winner Christopher Ashley with choreography by Kelly Devine and music supervision and arrangements by Ian Eisendrath. Jeanna de Waal stars in the title role.
