Here’s a schedule of cast recording release dates of new upcoming cast albums out in 2021.

From new musicals and recent rivals to concept albums and musical film soundtracks, here are all the upcoming releases you need to be aware of.


2021 Cast Recording Release Dates

Rumi: The Musical (Concept Album) – 18 June – DOWNLOAD/STREAM HERE
New musical Rumi is to be released as a concept album. The piece has been created by Dana Al Fardan and Nadim Naaman, based on a story by Evren Sharma. The musical will launch with a full length concept album this Spring starring Ramin Karimloo and Nadim Naaman. The pair head a West End cast comprising entirely of performers of Middle Eastern, North African and South Asian heritage.


Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cinderella (Original Cast Recording) – 9 July – DOWNLOAD/STREAM/CD HERE
Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cinderella features music from Webber with lyrics by David Zippel and an original story and book by Emerald Fennel. Teased as a new, modern spin on the all time classic fairytale, Carrie Hope Fletcher was previously confirmed to play the title role with Victoria Hamilton-Barritt as the Stepmother. For Tonight (Concept Album) – 30 July – DOWNLOAD/STREAM HERE
This bilingual musical has riveting score with an atmospheric soundscape blends traditional Welsh choral, indie-pop, folk, and Romani inspired melodies and rhythms. At its core, For Tonight is an exploration of the power and meaning of home. For Tonight has a book, music and lyrics by Shenelle Salcido & Spencer Williams, with additional book by Whitney Rhodes.


Tokyo Rose (Cast Album) – 20 August – STREAM HERE
Ahead of the show’s tour, an album spotlighting eight tracks has been released. Composer William Patrick Harrison’s energetic score includes cross-genre tracks encompassing pop, electronic, and neo-classical in a largely sung-through format to tell the story of one of America’s most controversial trials for treason.


The Unofficial Bridgerton Musical (Concept Album) – 10 September – DOWNLOAD/STREAM HERE
Composers Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear have turned their viral music sensation into a full-fledged concept album, The Unofficial Bridgerton Musical. Since first being shared on TikTok at the start of January, the pair’s music has become hugely popular with 200 million views of the #bridgertonmusical hashtag to date. Now The Unofficial Bridgerton Musical concept album has dropped, available to download and stream on all digital platforms.


Everybody’s Talking About Jamie (Movie Soundtrack) – 10 September – DOWNLOAD/STREAM/CD HERE
The official soundtrack for the big screen version of the West End musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie. 21-year-old newcomer Max Harwood makes his professional debut in the title role of Jamie New. Richard E. Grant plays former drag queen and Jamie’s mentor Hugo with Sharon Horgan as Jamie’s teacher Miss Hedge, Sarah Lancashire as his mother Margaret while Shobna Gulati reprises her original stage role of Ray.


Back To The Future (West End Cast Recording) – Summer 2021
Back to the Future follows Marty McFly who finds himself travelling back in time 30 years thanks to a time-traveling DeLorean created by Dr. Emmett “Doc” Brown. Olly Dobson stars in the role of Marty McFly with Doc Brown played by Roger Bart. They’re joined by Hugh Coles, Rosanna Hyland, Cedric Neal, Aidan Cutler and Courtney-Mae Briggs.


Dear Evan Hansen (Movie Soundtrack) – 24 September – PRE-ORDER HERE
An accompanying soundtrack cast album has been announced for Dear Evan Hansen’s upcoming movie adaptation, featuring songs from The Greatest Showman songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. The movie features two new numbers, The Anonymous Ones and A Little Closer. Ben Platt stars in the title role.


Diana (Broadway Cast Recording) – 24 September
Premiering on Netflix in October ahead of its Broadway bow in November, Diana is the electrifying new musical about a woman who chose to be fearless, and as a result became timeless. The piece was written by Joe DiPietro and David Bryan and is directed by Tony winner Christopher Ashley with choreography by Kelly Devine and music supervision and arrangements by Ian Eisendrath. Jeanna de Waal stars in the title role.
