Neil Diamond musical A Beautiful Noise is to close on Broadway in June.

Named after Diamond’s 1976 album of the same name, A Beautiful Noise will open at the Broadhurst Theatre on 4 December 2022.

Written by Anthony McCarten and directed by Michael Mayer with choreography by Steven Hoggett, the musical uses Diamond’s songs to tell his life story.

The show will play its final performance on 30 June 2024 at the Broadhurst Theatre. By the time the curtain falls for the last time, the show will have offered audiences 35 previews and 657 regular performances.

As the musical prepares to close on Broadway, there’s anticipation for the upcoming North American tour set to kick off this autumn in Providence, Rhode Island.

Producer Ken Davenport said: “Neil’s music has brought unadulterated joy to billions of people across the world.

“Everyone at A Beautiful Noise is proud to say that we had a small hand in telling his inspiring life story on Broadway and sharing in that jubilation with our audiences.

“As the North American tour prepares to launch this fall, I look forward to A Beautiful Noise spreading the love to countless others.”
