New musical Alice in Neverland brings together Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan

A brand new musical will bring together Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan.

The iconic title characters of Lewis Carrol’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan will appear alongside one another in Alice in Neverland.

The new musical will act as a sequel to Alice in Wonderland while simultaneously serving as a prequel to Peter Pan.

As first reported by Variety, the piece features book, music and lyrics by Phil Kenny and Reston Williams with producers including Jerry Goehring (Be More Chill, A Christmas Story), three-time Tony Award winner Jim Kierstead (Hadestown, Kinky Boots), Mike Evariste (Disgraced), seven-time Tony Award winner Jamie deRoy (Beetlejuice, Peter and the Starcatcher) and 42nd.club (Anastasia, Moulin Rouge).

A development reading is to take place this month (June 2021) with Anastasia star Christy Altomare, Heath Saunders (Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812), Will Swenson (Hair), Megan Masako Haley (Wicked), Alistair Brammer (Miss Saigon) and Timothy Hughes (Hadestown).

The cast for the reading is completed by M. Chase Grant, Kurt Hellerich, Claire Wilkins Kenny, Lisa Larsen, Mack, Beatriz Melo, Ryan Simmons, Scout Smith, Matt Walker, Kim Williams and Clotile Yanna.

If they can pull it off, it sounds like it could be a huge hit!
