The Woods revival to play Southwark Playhouse with Francesca Carpanini and Sam Frenchum

Francesca Carpanini and Sam Frenchum are to star in a revival of The Woods at Southwark Playhouse.

David Mamet’s 1977 play will return to London for its 1st UK revival after 21 years.

Directed byy Russell Bolam, the piece will run from 24 February to 26 March 2022 with tickets on sale now here.

Francesca Carpanini and Sam Frenchum make up the cast of the two-hander.

Nick and Ruth are spending the weekend at a remote cabin in the woods.

They push their relationship to the breaking point in a night of stories and fights, only to rediscover their need for one another in the morning, but the final reconciliation remains uncomfortably tempered by the violent core we now know to be hiding beneath.

Set & costume design comes from Anthony Lamble with lighting design by Bethany Gupwell, sound consultant Ali Taie, fight/intimacy co-ordinator Haruka Kuroda, accent coach Nina Zendejas and producer/casting director Danielle Tarento.
