Kate Nash musical Only Gold to premiere Off-Broadway this October

New musical Only Gold, featuring songs by British singer-songwriter Kate Nash, will premiere later in 2022.

The Foundations hit-maker has penned music for the show which will debut Off-Broadway at the MCC Theater.

Previews begin on 5 October with opening night set for 7 November. The piece is currently scheduled to run to 27 November.

Described as a “theatrical dance musical”, the production is directed and choreographed by In The Heights and Hamilton’s Andy Blankenbuehler, who also co-writes the book with Ted Malawer.

In Only Gold, a royal family’s arrival in Paris sets a flurry of activity into motion, forcing nobility and townsfolk alike to examine the choices they’ve made. As loyalties and loves are tested, will they find the courage to follow their hearts?

Paris will never be the same.

Nash will also appear the cast with Terrence Mann, Karine Plantadit, Gaby Diaz, Hannah Cruz, Ryan Steele and Ryan VanDenBoom.

Joining them are Haley Fish, Jennifer Florentino, Jacob Guzman, Tyler Hanes, Thayne Jasperson, Reed Luplau, Morgan Marcell, Ximone Rose, Ida Saki, Ahmad Simmons, DeAnne Stewart, Voltaire Wade-Greene and Katie Webber.

Completing the company for the premiere will be swings and understudies Jacob Burns, Phil Colgan, Bradley Dean, Victoria Fiore, Samantha Pollino and Eleri Ward.

The musical has been in the works for almost a decade with Nash speaking about the project as far back as 2013.

Brit Award winner Nash first rose to fame in 2007 with her debut album Made of Bricks.
