New Sleepless in Seattle musical to star Kimberley Walsh and Michael D Xavier

A new musical based on Sleepless in Seattle is to premiere in London in 2020.

Sleepless, a Musical Romance will open on March 31 at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre following previews from March 21.

Based on the screenplay of the iconic film, Sleepless tells the story of Sam who moves to Seattle with his eight-year-old son Jonah following the death of his wife. When Jonah calls in to a talk-radio program to find a new partner for his father, one listener finds herself going to great lengths to meet Sam.

Ahead of 2020’s run, three special preview performances will take place at the venue on Friday, December 13 (evening) and Saturday, December 14 (matinee and evening).

The cast will be led by Michael D Xavier as Sam and Kimberley Walsh as Annie.

They’re joined by Soo Drouet as Becky, Gay Soper as Eleanor, Alex Fobbester as Rob, Dylan Turner as Walter, Vicki Davids as Suzy, Michael Carolan as Gregg, and Jobe Hart as Jonah.

Completing the company are Charlie Bull, Charlotte Gale, Matt Holland, Joanna Rennie, Tyler Smith and Annette Yeo.

Sleepless is directed by Morgan Young with a book by Michael Burdette and two new British writers – music by Robert Scott and lyrics by Brendan Cull.
