A London cast recording from Rags the Musical's recent production at Park Theatre has been released.
After first premiering at Hope Mill Theatre last year, the musical recently concluded a month long engagement in the capital.
An official cast recording is now out to stream and download with a physical release planned for later in 2020.
Lyricist Stephen Schwartz said: "I could not be more pleased that this beautifully sung production of Rags is being recorded by this group of terrific actors and musicians. I and my fellow authors consider ourselves lucky indeed!"
Alongside Schwartz's lyrics, Rags features music from Charles Strouse with a book by Joseph Stein and David Thompson.
Rags the Musical tells the heart-warming and powerful tale of a group of Jewish immigrants as they arrive to start a new life in America.
The London cast featured Carolyn Maitland as Rebecca, Dave Willetts as Avram and Sam Attwater as Bronfman, Debbie Chazen as Anna, Alex Gibson-Giorgio as Sal, Rachel Izen as Rachel, Samuel Jones and Jude Muir as David, Martha Kirby as Bella, Oisin Nolan-Power as Ben and Jeremy Rose as Jack.
The company was completed by Arthur Boan, Angela Caesar, Adam Crossley, Drew Dillon, Matthew Gent and Natasha Karp.
Rags held its world premiere on Broadway in 1986 where it was nominated for five Tony awards, including Best Musical, Best Book and Best Score..
A synopsis for the show reads: "With a ravishing score by the songwriters of Wicked and Annie and the book-writer of Fiddler on the Roof, this is a sweeping saga of America’s immigrant past.
"RAGS The Musical is a story of love, loss and hope. Featuring a score celebrating the multicultural music which was filling the streets of New York in 1910. It is a saga of both hope and disappointment, of power and greed, of strength and love, combined with memorable music."
An original Broadway cast recording was released in 1991 and is available to download, stream and buy here.
