The top 100 musical showtunes – according to Spotify

The most popular showtunes in musical theatre have been revealed according to data from Spotify.

Showtunes from the likes of Wicked, Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen and Heathers have been notching up streams.

The people over at TicketSource have analysed more than 4,000 Spotify playlists to uncover the biggest musical songs and cast recordings.

Coming out on top is Wicked’s iconic Act 1 closer Defying Gravity, beating two tracks from Heathers the Musical – Candy Store and Dead Girl Walking – to the Number 1 spot.

Also making the top ten are songs from Dear Evan Hansen (Waving Through A Window), Hamilton (Alexander Hamilton), Hairspray (You Can’t Stop The Beat), Rent (Seasons Of Love) and The Book of Mormon (Hello!).
