A musical adaption of film The Lost Boys is eyeing up a Broadway run.
Musician G Tom Mac (aka Gerard McMahon) told Syfy that work is "nearly done" on the musical entitled A Lost Boys Story.
A concept album is available to stream online now via Spotify.
1987 film The Lost Boys tells the story of a mum and her two sons who move to a small California town which turns out to be a haven for vampires.
The musical adaption will apparently focus on the character Kiefer Sutherland played in the movie, David, a member of the living undead.
Casting is underway with JD McCrary (The Lion King) and Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange) said to be lined up for parts.
Mac explained that the production had been pushed back to 2022 due to the ongoing pandemic.
He said: "We were looking at late 2021, like the fall. But [now] we’re looking at 2022. Last summer, I went to England with one of my producers and met with various choreographers. It was my producer's idea to search the London theater world for some fresh talent [choreographers, set designers, etc.].
"It was about three weeks to a month of just finding the right people and, of course, there are incredibly talented people in New York as well, which we had brought on."
