Album of Nick Cordero’s 54 Below cabaret show to be released

A live recording of Nick Cordero’s 54 Below show is to be released posthumously.

Broadway actor Cordero tragically passed away earlier this year, aged 41.

His wife Amanda Kloots has announced the release of a special album to celebrate his birthday on September 17.

Live Your Life – Live at Feinstein’s/54 Below is a recording of Cordero’s cabaret performance, directed and music directed by Emmy Award-winning producer Michael J Moritz Jr.

Broadway Records announced: “Following his passing, the album will be released with his family’s blessing to honor his legacy and celebrate the incredible talent and life that was tragically cut short. Proceeds from the album will go to benefit his wife, Amanda Kloots, and their young son Elvis.”

Guest performers on the album include Kathryn Gallagher (Jagged Little Pill, “You”), Drew Gehling (Waitress), Sara Chase (First Date, “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”), and Zach Braff (Bullets Over Broadway, “Scrubs”).

You can pre-order the album here.

Kloots said on Instagram: “Nick would be absolutely thrilled to hear this news. I’ve never seen my husband work so hard on something and be so nervous to perform. I was so proud of him and absolutely loved watching him onstage these two nights.

“He created this show from scratch, choosing songs to tell a story… his story. There’s some Broadway tunes with fun guest stars, some pop, standards, a little Latin and of course the encore is Live Your Life.”

Born in Canada, Cordero’s stage credits included The Toxic Avenger, Rock Of Ages, Waitress, A Bronx Tale and Bullets Over Broadway, for which he was nominated for a Tony Award and won the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical.
