Karen Olivo & Aaron Tveit perform ‘Come What May’ in this clip from Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Broadway.

The hit stage adaption of the Oscar-winning film made its debut on Broadway last summer and recently picked up 14 Tony Award nominations.

While the show is currently shutdown with Broadway closed until at least next summer, a special performance has been shared online.

Moulin Rouge The Musical is based on the 2001 film Moulin Rouge! directed by Baz Luhrmann and written by Luhrmann and Craig Pearce. It tells the story of Christian who falls in love with actress and courtesan Satine, star of Paris cabaret venue Moulin Rouge.

The jukebox musical features a book by John Logan with a pop rock score made up of songs from artists ranging from Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Sia, Katy Perry and Beyonce to Elton John , Lorde, The White Stripes and The Police.

The show was originally due to transfer to London in March 2021, playing at the Piccadilly Theatre.

But with the ongoing pandemic and theatre shutdown, the opening has now been postponed until the autumn of 2021.

Exact dates, together with casting for the London production, is to be confirmed.
