Wicked on Broadway announces its brand new Elphaba

Wicked on Broadway has announced its brand new Elphaba.

Hannah Corneau will make her debut as a new green girl in New York from Tuesday May 14. It’ll be her Broadway Debut, having previously toured North America as Yitzhak in the First National tour of Hedwig and The Angry Inch.

Current Elphaba Jessica Vosk will play her final performance on Sunday, May 12.

Corneau joins the current Broadway cast of Ginna Claire Mason as Glinda, Nancy Opel as Madame Morrible, Michael McCormick as The Wizard, Ryan McCartan as Fiyero, Jamie Jackson as Doctor Dillamond, Gizel Jimenez as Nessarose and Jesse JP Johnson as Boq.

Wicked reveals the ‘true untold story’ behind the Wizard Of Oz and just what happened before Dorothy dropped in. Featuring some of musical theatre’s most iconic songs, such as Defying Gravity, Wicked will send your spirits soaring to heights you’ll never forget.

In the West End, Wicked plays at the Apollo Victoria Theatre and recently extended its booking through to 23 May 2020.

One of the longest productions in London, 500,000 new tickets have bee released for performances over the next 12 months.

The current Wicked London cast is led by Alice Fearn as Elphaba and Sophie Evans as Glinda.

They’re joined by David Witts as Fiyero, Melanie La Barrie as Madame Morrible, Andy Hockley as The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Chris Jarman as Doctor Dillamond, Jack Lansbury as Boq and Rosa O’Reilly as Nessarose.

The London company of Wicked will see a cast change on 22 July 2019, although details about new casting has yet to be announced.
