Hit West End musical & Juliet is on its way to Broadway!

The jukebox musical has revealed plans for a pre-Broadway run in Toronto in 2022 in what will be its first production outside the UK.

The show will play from July 2022 with details such as casting and future plans for Broadway to be announced.

& Juliet opened in the West End in November 2019 and has proved a huge hit.

The musical retells the iconic Shakespeare tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by asking: what if Juliet’s famous ending was really just her beginning?

It features a collection of huge pop songs written by Max Martin including Break Free (Ariana Grande), …Baby One More Time (Britney Spears), Teenage Dream (Katy Perry) Everybody (Backstreet Boys), Can’t Feel My Face (The Weeknd) and It’s My Life (Bon Jovi).

Following a forced closure due to the pandemic, the West End production will resume performances at the Shaftesbury Theatre in the autumn on 24 September with tickets on sale now here.

Returning to the cast will be Miriam-Teak Lee in the title role with Cassidy Janson as Anne Hathaway, Oliver Tompsett as William Shakespeare, David Bedella as Lance, Jordan Luke Gage as Romeo, Melanie La Barrie as Nurse and Tim Mahendran as Francois.

The show will welcome Alex Thomas-Smith in the role of May, taking over from Arun Blair-Mangat.

An original London cast recording was previously released, available to buy, download and stream here.
