Mrs. Doubtfire musical has released an original cast recording!

Based on the hit movie of the same name, the stage version is written by Wayne Kirkpatrick, Karey Kirkpatrick and John O’Farrell.

The musical tells the story of out-of-work actor Daniel who, after losing custody of his children in a messy divorce, creates the ​alter ego of Scottish nanny Euphegenia Doubtfire in a desperate attempt to stay in their lives.

The official Original Broadway Cast Recording of Mrs. Doubtfire was released on 22 June 2022.

The release follows the show’s closing on Brodway in June.

Mrs. Doubtfire had resumed performances at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre in New York from 14 April having originally first began previews in March 2020 just days before the pandemic shutdown.

The Broadway cast was led by Rob McClure in the title role with Jenn Gambatese, Brad Oscar, Peter Bartlett, Charity Angél Dawson, Mark Evans, J. Harrison Ghee and Analise Scarpaci.

Jerry Zaks directs the production which has scenic design by David Korins, choreography by Lorin Latarro and music supervision by Ethan Popp.

Meanwhile in the UK Mrs. Doubtfire will debut later in 2022 in Manchester.

The show will begin performances at Manchester Opera House on 2 September 2022 with tickets on sale now. The run is currently scheduled to 1 October with rumours of a planned West End transfer following.

Casting for the UK production is to be announced.
