Kinky Boots off-Broadway revival to star Callum Francis, Danielle Hope and Christian Douglas

Casting has been revealed for a new revival of hit musical Kinky Boots coming to New York this summer.

The production will run off-Broadway at Stage 42 from 25 August with previews from 26 July.

Director and choreographer of the original Broadway production Jerry Mitchell will return to helm the show.

Leading the cast as Lola will be Callum Francis who previously appeared in the show in the West End, on Broadway and in Australia.

Fellow West End star Danielle Hope will play Lauren with Christian Douglas as Charlie Price.

Also on the cast are Brianna Stoute as Nicola, Sean Steele as Don, and Marcus Neville as George.

Completing the company are Devin Bowles, Bella Coppola, Nick Drake, Ian Gallagher Fitzgerald, Ryan Halsaver, Matthew Michael Janisse, Lindsay Joan, Kevin Smith Kirkwood, Marty Lauter, Tommy Martinez, Ryah Nixon, Lucas Pastrana, Liz Pearce, Ricky Shroeder, David J. Socolar, Ebrin R. Stanley, Tarion Strong, Ernest T. Williams, and Maria Wirries.

With a score written by Cyndi Lauper and a book by Harvey Fierstein, Kinky Boots first premiered in 2012 in Chicago before opening on Broadway in 2013 where it ran until 2019.

The show opened in London at the Adelphi Theatre in 2015, finishing its run in January 2019 after more than 1,400 performances.

Set in Northampton, it tells the story of Charlie Price who inherits a struggling shoe factory, turning its fate around with a new flamboyant business model thanks to a chance encounter with a drag queen named Lola.

Meanwhile here in the UK the musical will soon get its UK regional premiere while a one-night-only concert production will take place in the West End this summer.
