Collabro, Joe McElderry, Sophie Evans to star in open air concert

A trio of musical theatre superstars are set for an open air concert at a new venue in Newcastle.

Love at the Musicals will feature Collabro (winners of Britain’s Got Talent), Joe McElderry (winner of ITV’s X Factor) and Sophie Evans (star of Wicked, The Wizard of Oz).

The show will take place on August 23 at Virgin Money Unity Arena’s outdoor socially distanced music venue

Tickets go on sale from 10AM on Wednesday, July 29 via the Virgin Money Unity Arena website here.

The trio of acts previously performed together earlier this year, performing songs from ‘The Greatest Showman’, ‘Les Misérables’, ‘Phantom of the Opera’, ‘West Side Story’ and more.

Musical theatre group Collabro rose to fame as the winners of Britain’s Got Talent in 2014, going on to release five hit albums and tour the country with performances at venues such as the Royal Albert Hall.

Joe McElderry won The X Factor in 2009. He has since released four top ten albums and starred in the lead role in the UK tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.

Sophie Evans was a runner up on BBC One talent show Over The Rainbow and made her West End Debut in The Wizard of Oz. He other theatre credits include Wicked in the role of Glinda.
