Godspell concert at Cadogan Hall to feature West End stars

A semi-staged concert version of Godspell will play at Cadogan Hall this month.

The British Theatre Academy will run the production on Saturday, June 29.

It will star a number of West End stars including Laura Baldwin (Waitress), Luke Bayer (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie), Max Bowden (Eastenders), Rachel John (Hamilton) and Ramin Karimloo (Phantom, Les Misérables, Holby City).

They’ll be joined by students from the British Theatre Academy.

BTA Artistic Director Matthew Chandler said: “I am so excited about this line-up and giving our kids the opportunity to work with such amazing, inspiring, world class talents. ‘Godspell’ promises to be an unforgettable experience for them all.”

The production will be directed by Dean Johnson with musical direction from Chris Ma musical and choreography from Thea Butler.

Composed by Stephen Schwartz with a book by John-Michael Tebelak, Godspell tells the story of Jesus as told in the Gospel of Matthew. With songs including ‘Day By Day’, ‘Prepare Ye’, ‘Turn Back O Man’ and ‘Beautiful City’, the show follows a community of disciples as they learn the concepts of compassion, trust, love and tolerance.

Tickets are available here.
