Songs For A New World online production to stream again

2020’s online production of Songs For A New World is to stream again later this month.

The virtual production of Jason Robert Brown’s song cycle stars Cedric Neal, Rachel John, Rachel Tucker and Ramin Karimloo and introduces Shem Omari James.

Originally streaming last July, the show will be made available to watch again online via stream.theatre here between 21 and 24 February.

A teaser for the show reads: “It’s about one moment. It’s about hitting the wall and having to make a choice… or take a stand… or turn around and go back. These are the stories and characters of today, the Songs for a New World.

“This is the acclaimed virtual production starring Rachel John (Hamilton), Ramin Karimloo (Phantom of The Opera), Cedric Neal (Motown The Musical) and Rachel Tucker (Come From Away). The first musical from Tony Award winner, Jason Robert Brown (The Last Five Years, Parade, Bridges of Madison County), this moving collection of powerful songs examines life, love and the choices that we make.

“Songs For A New World transports audiences through time and space to meet a startling array of characters – every one of them so different, but all representing our world today and our hopes for a new world… a better world.”

The Lambert Jackson Productions production was filmed in isolation with direction from Séimí Campbell (My Son Pinocchio – Southwark Playhouse), music supervision by Adam Hoskins (Doctor Zhivago) and musical direction by Josh Winstone (The Last Five Years).
