Bristol Old Vic’s A Christmas Carol to stream on YouTube over Christmas

Bristol Old Vic’s 2019 A Christmas Carol revival will again stream on YouTube later this month.

The Christmas production will be made available for free the second time to audiences around the world over the festive period.

The show will premiere on YouTube on 16 December 2022 from 7PM, available to 1 January 2023 at 23:59PM.

Starring the charismatic John Hopkins as Scrooge, Dickens’ classic is adapted by Tom Morris (Touching the Void; The Grinning Man), directed by Lee Lyford (The Elephant Man), with music and lyrics by Gwyneth Herbert (The Snow Queen) and is the ultimate festive feast for all the family.

You’ll be able to watch online for free via www.bristololdvic.org.uk/youtube

The 2019 revival was recorded in front of a live Bristol Old Vic audience. First broadcast in 2020 during lockdown, this joyous film has quickly become a firm festive favourite.

This release comes hot-on-the-heels of the team’s latest In-Theatre production The Nutcracker, currently running at Bristol Old Vic through to 7 January 2023.
