Trevor: The Musical to stream on Disney+ from 24 June

The recent off-Broadway production of Trevor: The Musical is to stream on Disney+.

A filmed version of the stage show will be released to watch online on 24 June 2022.

With a book and lyrics by Dan Collins and music from Julianne Wick Davis, Trevor: The Musical is based on the Oscar-winning short film of the same name released in 1995. The film led to the creation of The Trevor Project, a helpline and mental health organisation dedicated to young LGBTQ+ people.

It’s 1981 in America, and Trevor Nelson is busy navigating adolescence in suburbia while dreaming of a life in show business. When an embarrassing incident at school suddenly puts him in the wrong spotlight, Trevor must summon the courage to forge his own path.

A deeply moving and funny story of self-discovery and the power of acceptance, Trevor the Musical is about living your best life with a ton of passion… and a touch of pizzazz.

Holden William Hagelberger leads the cast as Tevor with the full company made up of Mark Aguirre, Aaron Alcaraz, Ava Briglia, Sammy Dell, Tyler Joseph Gay, Ellie Kim, Colin Konstanty, Brigg Liberman, Diego Lucano, Alyssa Emily Marvin, Isabel Medina, Echo Deva Picone, Dan Rosales, Aryan Simhadri, Yasmeen Sulieman, Sally Wilfert, Aeriel Williams and Jarrod Zimmerman.

The production is directed by Marc Bruni with choreography by Josh Prince, scenic design by Donyale Werle, lighting design by Peter Kaczorowski, costume design by Mara Blumenfeld, sound design by Brian Ronan and Cody Spencer, orchestrations by Greg Pliska and music direction by Matt Deitchman.
