The Beck Theatre’s 2020 panto has been postponed until next year.
Produced by Qdos Entertainment, the planned production of Jack and The Beanstalk will now take place in Christmas 2021.
New dates have been set for Friday December 10, 2021 to Sunday January 2, 2022.
The venue said: “After much discussion we’re sad to announce that our pantomime has been postponed until 2021. All tickets and reservations will be transferred to an equivalent performance, at the same price and in the same seats.
“We have explored all options to continue with our autumn programme, but unfortunately it is just not viable to present full shows – with all that involves – whilst social distancing measures remain in place. The Culture Secretary’s announcement that a relaxation will not be considered until November at the earliest has reluctantly led us to this decision.
“Panto 2021 will be brighter, funnier and more spectacular than ever before. After 2020 we’re all going to need it! We look forward to welcoming you back soon.”
Jack and the Beanstalk tells the story of poor country boy Jack who trades his family cow in for a handful of magic beans, which grow into a beanstalk leading to a giant’s castle.
