Anita Dobson will lead the 2019 Panto cast at the Royal & Derngate Theatre in Northampton.
The Star of Stage and Screen will appear as the Wicked Stepmother in this Christmas’s spectacular family pantomime Cinderella, produced by Qdos entertainment.
She will be joined on the cast by comedy legend Bernie Clifton, CBeebies star Sid Sloane and comedian and magician Martyn James.
Dobson rose to fame in BBC One soap EastEnders, where she played Queen Vic landlady Angie Watts in the 1980s.
Her other acting credits include Call The Midwife, Red Dwarf, Rab C Nesbitt and Split Ends, as well as Strictly Come Dancing in 2011. On stage, Dobson has played Mama Morton in Chicago and Madame Morrible in Wicked in the West End and received an Olivier Award nomination for her performance in Bryony Lavery’s Frozen at the National Theatre.
Clifton will appear as Baron Hardup, Sloane will play Dandini and James will perform as Buttons.
Cinderella tells the story of a young orphaned girl who is put to work by her evil step mother and bullied by her two step-sisters, until a chance encounter with her Fairy Godmother changes everything.
The panto will play from Friday 6 until Sunday 29 December 2019.
