The star cast for the 2019 pantomime at New Victoria Theatre, Woking has been announced.
Aladdin has become one of the most popular pantomimes in the UK thanks to its magical story of a young boy who chances upon a wish-granting genie.
Leading the cast are Strictly Come Dancing professional Brendan Cole and comedian Bobby Davro.
Cole will play Genie of the Ring while Davro will play Wishee Washee.
Joining them are CBBC star Mischa Eckersley as Princess Jasmine, iconic panto dame David Phipps Davis as Widow Twankey and veteran ventriloquist Dawson Chance as Chief of Police
Qdos Entertainment managing director Michael Harrison said: “We’re delighted to have assembled such a talented cast for this year’s pantomime, following last year’s hugely successful production of Cinderella. This year’s show promises spectacular dance, hilarious comedy, plenty of music and a lamp-load of audience participation.”
Simon Thomsett, Theatre Director at the New Victoria Theatre, added: “This is going to be one spectacular Christmas in Woking; we’re over the Aladdin moon to be working with last year’s production team for this year’s extravaganza which is already shaping up to be another record breaking pantomime season.
"One thing we can be sure of is that it’s going to be a lot of fun with Brendan Cole taking the lead and Bobby Davro, whose pantomime performances are legendary. We have a brilliant supporting cast to tell the classic tale of Aladdin and his magic lamp with Princess Jasmine as CBBC’s Mischa Eckersley. We can’t wait for this magic carpet ride of a seasonal treat.”
Aladdin plays at New Victoria Theatre, Woking between Friday 6 December 2019 to Sunday 5 January 2020.
