The cast for the 2019 pantomime at Sunderland Empire Theatre has been confirmed.
Cinderella tells the story of a young orphaned girl who is put to work by her evil step mother and bullied by her two step-sisters, until a chance encounter with her Fairy Godmother changes everything.
The star cast will be led by I’m a Celebrity and Gogglebox star, Scarlett Moffat who will be performing in the role of the Fairy Godmother.
Joining Moffat on the cast will be Queen of North East comedy Miss Rory (aka Dan Cunningham) as the feisty Rorina Hardup with Duncan Burt as her equally ugly sister Ruby!
Completing the star cast are Nick Jnr’s Gemma Naylor (Go! Go! Go!) as Cinderella, ITV’s Superstar finalist Jon Moses as the Prince and the hilarious Tom Whalley as Buttons.
Martin Dodd, producer, UK Productions said: “I am not only absolutely delighted to be bringing such a fabulous line up of stars to this year’s pantomime, but also that many of them are home grown in the North East.
"They may work nationally and internationally, but there is only one place that they want to be for Christmas and that’s at home in the beautiful Sunderland Empire."
Cinderella plays at Sunderland Empire Theatre between Saturday 14 December 2019 and Sunday 5 January 2020.
