West End stars will perform at Concerts In The Park as part of Chichester Festival Theatre’s newly announced Open Air Weekend.

Chichester Festival Theatre has unveiled a weekend of open air events at Oaklands Park ahead of the venue reopening for its summer musical South Pacific in July.

Taking place on 3-6 June will be Concerts in the Park featuring a celebrity compère and West End stars including Carly Bawden (Romantics Anonymous, Alice, My Fair Lady), Emma Kingston (Fiddler on the Roof, Evita, Zorro) and Ako Mitchell (Caroline, Or Change, Sister Act, The Color Purple).

Joined by a live band, the stars will be performing classic hit songs from musical theatre and beyond with direction by Louise Shephard, and musical direction from Theo Jamieson.

Also announced is Family Fun in the Park which will take place the afternoons of 4 and 5 of June with actors and puppets bringing beloved children’s tales to life.

Plots will be available for between 2 and 6 people with arrangements for social distancing depending on government guidelines at the time.
