Here’s a first look at new Tom Jones musical What’s New Pussycat? currently playing at the Birmingham Rep .

What’s New Pussycat? is inspired by 18th century novel, A History of Tom Jones, a Foundling, written by Henry Fielding and is told using the music of Sir Tom Jones.

Joe DiPietro adapts the book for the new musical production with the show set in the swinging 60s, directed by Luke Sheppard (& Juliet, Rent).

The show is currently holding its world premiere at Birmingham Rep through to 14 November.

Casting for What’s New Pussycat? was previously revealed with Dominic Andersen as Tom Jones, Bronté Barbé as Mary Western, Ashley Campbell as Mr Partridge, Julius D’Silva as Lord Allworthy, Rebekah Hinds as The Girl in the Polka Dot Dress, Harry Kershaw as William Blifil, Kelly Price as Lady Bellaston and Melanie Walters as Mrs Western.

Completing the company are Tom Francis, Naomi Katiyo, Lemuel Knights, David Mairs-McKenzie, Lisa Mathieson, Fallon Mondlane, Jena Pandya, Nathan Rigg, Owen Saward and Carrie Willis.

The show has choreography by Arlene Phillips, set design by Jon Bausor, costume design by Janet Bird, musical supervision and orchestrations by Matthew Brind, video design by Akhila Krishnan , lighting design by Howard Hudson and sound design by Gareth Owen.

The casting director is Annelie Powell CDG, Dale White is associate choreographer, Priya Patel Appleby is assistant director and Josh Sood is the musical director.
