The team behind last year’s production of A Christmas Carol will bring their irreverent and riotous take on the Dickens classic to the stage from 4 December 2021.

The piece will run to 16 January with a range of both socially distanced and full capacity seating plans throughout the run.

Oliver Twist! cast

Cynthia Emeagi plays Fagin, Keshini Misha plays Dodger, Matthew Ganley plays Bill and Rose Bruford plays Nancy

Mr and Mrs Sowerberry are played by Liz Jadav and Milton Lopes respectively, Adam Speers is Mr Brownlow and Rose is played by Claire-Marie Seddon.

The role of Oliver itself will be shared by four talented young members of the Storyhouse Youth Theatre Juliette Dear, Jacob Collinson, Luwe Hayes-Roberts and Reuban Connor.

From Storyhouse Young Leaders trainee actor Rosey Dight also joins the company.

The creative team is led by director Kash Arshed, designer Liz Wright, musical director Matthew Ganley, movement director Rhianne Stubbs, lighting designer Martha Godfrey and sound designer Chris Bogg.

Oliver Twist is born in the workhouse and brought up in an orphanage before being apprenticed to the local undertakers the Sowerberrys.

He runs away to London where he is befriended by the street-savvy Jack Dawkins, otherwise known as the Artful Dodger, and taken under the wing of Jack’s benefactor – the criminal Svengali Fagin.

Will picking a pocket or two for the wily Fagin be the innocent young Oliver’s fate? Or will the kindness of strangers win the day?

Tickets are available online now via www.storyhouse.com
