Mrs. Doubtfire The Musical cast revealed for UK premiere

Casting has been revealed for Mrs. Doubtfire The Musical ahead of its opening in Manchester.

Based on the iconic film of the same name, the Mrs. Doubtfire musical will begin performances at Manchester Opera House on 2 September 2022 with tickets on sale now.

It tells the story of a recently divorced out-of-work actor who creates the ​alter ego of a Scottish nanny to be closer to his children.

The cast will be led by Gabriel Vick (Avenue Q) as Daniel Hillard, with Laura Tebbutt (School of Rock) as Miranda Hillard, Carla Dixon Hernandez (Matilda the Musical) as Lydia Hillard, Cameron Blakely (The Addams Family) as Frank Hillard.

The role of Christopher Hillard will be shared by George Nearn Stuart, Charlie Tumbridge and Fred Wilcox while Jessica Bowerman, Darcey Dean and Angelica Pearl Scott will alternate as Natalie Hillard

Also on the cast will be Marcus Collins (The X Factor) as Andre, Dominic Andersen (Heathers) as Stuart Dunmire, Vanessa Fisher (Legally Blonde) as Wanda Sellner, Ian Talbot OBE (Hairspray, and Director of The Mousetrap) as Mr. Jolly and Aiesha Naomi Pease (Sister Act) as Janet Lundy.

Completing the company are Aidan O’Neill (Standby Daniel Hillard) , Joshua Dever, Samuel Wilson Freeman, Maria Garrett, Kiera Haynes, AJ Lewis, Adam Lyons, Lisa Mathieson, Ellie Mitchell, Matt Overfield, Tom Scanlon, Vicki Lee Taylor, Rebecca Donnelly, Effie Rae Dyson, Amy Everett, Travis Ross and Paulo Teixeira.

Out-of-work actor Daniel will do anything for his kids. After losing custody in a messy divorce, he creates the ​alter ego of Scottish nanny Euphegenia Doubtfire in a desperate attempt to stay in their lives. As his new character takes on a life of its own, Mrs. Doubtfire teaches Daniel more than he bargained for about how to be a father.

The musical has a book by Karey Kirkpatrick and John O’Farrell, original music and lyrics by Wayne and Karey Kirkpatrick.

Jerry Zaks directs with scenic design by David Korins, choreography by Lorin Latarro, and music supervision by Ethan Popp.

An official Broadway Cast Recording of the show was released in June.
