Avenue Q is heading out on a UK tour in 2019 - here's all you need to know.

Avenue Q, with music & lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx and a book by Jeff Whitty, has become a cult hit since premiering in new York in 2003. The original Broadway run won a trio of Tony Awards, including Best Musical, while the West End production was nominated for an Olivier Award in 2007.

Featuring a mixture of puppet and human characters, Avenue Q tells the stories of a group of young adults living in a borough of New York City.

With considerable profanity and sexual themes it's definitely not a show for kids - but for adults it'll be sure to serve up plenty of laughs with its unrelenting relatability.

The current Avenue Q UK tour cast includes Lawrence Smith as Princeton / Rod, Cecily Redman as Kate Monster / Lucy the Slut, Tom Steedon as Nicky / Trekkie Monster / Bad Idea Bear and Megan Armstrong as Mrs T / Bad Idea Bear.

Joining them are Oliver Stanley as Brian, Saori Oda as Christmas Eve and Nicholas Mclean as Gary Coleman.

Making up the ensemble are Jasmine Beel, Chloe Gentles, Robbie Noonan and Ellis Dackombe.
