Dreamgirls cast revealed in full for first UK tour
The Dreamgirls UK tour cast has been announced in full today!
Set in the 1960s, Dreamgirls follows the story of a young female singing trio – Effie, Lorrell and Deena – called “The Dreams”, who become music superstars.
The hit musical will begin a first ever UK this December, playing over the festive season at the Liverpool Empire. The show will then tour across the UK throughout 2022.

Nicole Raquel Dennis will lead the cast in the role of Effie White with Natalie Kassanga as Deena Jones, Paige Peddie as Lorrell Robinson, Dom Hartley-Harris as Curtis Taylor Jr, Brandon Lee Sears as Jimmy Early, Shem Omari James as C C White, Jo Servi as Marty and Brianna Ogunbawo as Michelle Morris.
At certain performances, Sharlene Hector will be performing in the role of Effie White.
Completing the company are Shonah Buwu, Harvey Ebbage, Olivia Foster-Browne, Kellianna Jay, Ryan Kayode, Holly Liburd, Ross Meagrow, Samuel Nicholas, Nicole Nyarambi, Ilana Richardson and Josh Singleton.

After opening in Liverpool, the Dreamgirls will head to Bristol in the new year followed by runs in Milton Keynes, Sunderland, Sheffield, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Wimbledon, Nottingham, Norwich, Leeds, Canterbury, Plymouth, Llandudno, Aberdeen, Manchester, Oxford, Glasgow, Blackpool, Southampton, Northampton and Birmingham.
First premiering on Broadway in 1981, Dreamgirls has music by Henry Krieger with a book and lyrics by Tom Eyen. It features iconic songs And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going and One Night Only.
In 2006 the stage musical was turned into a hit movie featuring Jamie Foxx, Beyoncé, Eddie Murphy, Danny Glover, Anika Noni Rose and Jennifer Hudson.
The show debuted in London in 2016, originally featuring Amber Riley as Effie White. The show ended its run after almost three years in January 2019.
