Sister Act is to tour the UK in 2021 and 2022 - here's all you need to know.

Produced by Jamie Wilson and Whoopi Goldberg, the brand new production will tour the UK from September with an opening night in Southampton.

The show will then tour the UK across the summer with stays in Leicester, Manchester, Newcastle, Birmingham, Cardiff, Dartford, Nottingham and Liverpool.

Based on the hit movie, Sister Act tells the story of a singer who is forced to join a convent after being placed in a witness protection program.

Sister Act features music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Glenn Slater and a book by Bill and Cheri Steinkellner with additional book material by Douglas Carter Beane.

Sister Act cast

On tour, Brenda Edwards will lead the cast in the role of Deloris Van Cartier up to and including dates in Nottingham.

Jennifer Saunders will play 'Mother Superior' at the following venues: Mayflower Theatre Southampton, Manchester Palace Theatre, Birmingham Hippodrome and Wales Millennium Centre.

'Mother Superior' will be played by Lesley Joseph in the following venues: Leicester Curve, Dartford Orchard Theatre, Millennium Forum in Derry, and Nottingham Theatre Royal.

Clive Rowe will play the role of Eddie Souther in Mayflower Theatre Southampton, Leicester Curve, Manchester Palace Theatre, Millennium Forum in Derry, Nottingham Theatre Royal, Liverpool Empire and Bristol Hippodrome.

Further casting is to be confirmed.
