Tickets for The Lion King 2020 tour at the Palace Theatre Manchester are on sale now.
The 2020 UK tour of Disney's The Lion King will celebrate the show's 20th anniversary since premiering in London.
It also follows a live action adaption of the iconic animated film on which the stage show is based.
The Lion King UK tour will begin performances in Manchester at the Palace Theatre from Thursday, October 22 2020 and is currently booking through to January 2021.
The Lion King is set against the majesty of the Serengeti Plains to the evocative rhythms of Africa. Exploding with glorious colours, stunning effects and enchanting music, it tells the timeless story of Simba and his epic journey to fulfil his destiny as King of the Pridelands.
Director Julie Taymor made Broadway history by becoming the first woman to win the Tony Award® for ’Best Director of a Musical’ for her work on the production, which features incredible staging and puppets.
The touring cast will be led in Manchester by Nick Afoa in the role of Simba with the current company also including Josslynn Hlenti as Nala and Thandazile Soni as Rafiki.
Steve Beirnaert plays Timon, Carl Sanderson plays Pumbaa, Matthew Forbes plays Zazu, Jean-Luc Guizonne plays Mufasa, Alan McHale plays Ed, Rebecca Omogbehin plays Shenzi and Simon Trinder plays Banzai.
