Watch first look clips from Hamilton movie ahead of Disney+ premiere

Disney+ has revealed a first look at its Hamilton movie ahead of the film’s debut next month.

Tony Award and Pulitzer prize-winning musical Hamilton will premiere on Disney+ on Friday, July 3 at 8AM UK time.

Filmed at The Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway in June of 2016, the film features the original Broadway cast and transports its audience into the world of the Broadway show in a uniquely intimate way.

In one of the first look clips, Lin-Manuel Miranda appears as the title character in the musical’s opening number.

A second features Leslie Odom Jr. in The Room Where It Happens…

And a third clip stars RenĂ©e Elise Goldsberry in singing Satisfied…

You can watch two more extra clips below…

Meanwhile, Miranda has spoken about censorship of the musical as it prepares to launch on Disney+.

He said on Twitter: “LANGUAGE! 1. On July 3, you’re getting the whole show, every note & scene, & a 1-minute countdown clock during intermission (bathroom!)

“2. But MPAA has a hard rule about language: more than 1 utterance of “F**k” is an automatic R rating. We have 3 “F**ks” in our show. So I literally gave two f**ks so the kids could see it:

“1. In Yorktown, there’s a mute over “I get the f___ back up again”

“2. “Southern *record scratch*kin’ Democratic Republicans.”

“You can sing whatEVER you like at home (even sync up the album)! Love you. Enjoy.”

Alongside Miranda, the cast features Daveed Diggs as Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson; Renée Elise Goldsberry as Angelica Schuyler; Jonathan Groff as King George; Christopher Jackson as George Washington; Jasmine Cephas Jones as Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds; Leslie Odom, Jr. as Aaron Burr; Okieriete Onaodowan as Hercules Mulligan/James Madison; Anthony Ramos as John Laurens/Philip Hamilton; and Phillipa Soo as Eliza Hamilton.
