The show comes from Emmy-winning director and choreographer Kenny Ortega who was behind hit Disney musical movie series High School Musical.
Julie and the Phantoms tells the story of Julie, a teenage girl who finds her passion for music and life with the help of a high-concept band of three teen boys (The Phantoms) who have been dead for 25 years.
Julie, in turn, helps them become the band they were never able to be.
The nine-episode first season will be released in the UK on Netflix on September 10, 2020 at 8AM BST.

Madison Reyes will star in the title role of Julie, who is grieving following the loss of her mother.
Charlie Gillespie, Jeremy Shada and Owen Patrick Joyner—whose will appear as the Phantoms while further casting includes Cheyenne Jackson, Booboo Stewart, Carlos Ponce, Sonny Bustamante, Jadah Marie, Sacha Carlson and Savannah Lee May.
