Enchanted 2 release date and cast

A sequel to hit Disney film Enchanted is finally on its way!

Over a decade on from the original movie’s 2007 release, Enchanted 2 – titled Disenchanted – is on its way.

Disney has announced the movie will stream via Disney+ on 18 November, 2022.

Enchanted followed princess Giselle who found herself flung from her animated world into real-life New York.

The sequel is set 15 years later with Giselle and husband Robert moving to the suburb of Monroeville with their now teenage daughter Morgan and follows the family as they discover what happily ever after truly means.

Amy Adams will reprise her role as Giselle with Idina Menzel back as Nancy Tremaine, Patrick Dempsey as Robert Philip and James Marsden as Prince Edward.

New casting includes Maya Rudolph as Malvina, Giselle’sadversary in Monroeville; Kolton Stewart as Malvina’s son, Yvette Nicole Brown as Rosalyn, Jayma Mays as Ruby, Oscar Nunez as Edgar and Gabriella Baldacchino as Morgan.

Stephen Schwartz and Alan Menken reunite to pen the music after the first movie was nominated for a trio of Oscars for its songs.

Producer and director Adam Shankman says: “Working again with Disney has been like coming home.

“With Amy and this extraordinary cast, Alan and Stephen’s mind blowing new score, and [producer] Barry and Disney’s support, I just hope to bring magic and joy to audiences around the world.”

Producer Barry Josephson added: “I guess dreams do come true…producing Enchanted was the most rewarding film experience I’ve ever had. I’m so excited for Adam Shankman to begin filming Disenchanted.

“I want to thank everyone at Disney for supporting us all the way. Very special thanks to Amy Adams for deciding to play Giselle, the character she created again! And we are so fortunate to have this incredible cast!”
