Christina Aguilera sings new version of ‘Reflection’ as Mulan’s live action film is released

A new version of Mulan song Reflection performed by Christina Aguilera has been shared ahead of the movie’s live-action adaptation.

Disney’s Mulan was originally released in 1998 as an animated musical film. It tells the story of a young woman who impersonates a man in order to take her father’s place in the Chinese military to help ward off a Hun invasion.

Reflection appeared both in the film, performed by Lea Salonga who gave Mulan her singing voice, and in the end credits by Christina Aguilera.

Ahead of the release of Mulan’s live-action version, Christina Aguilera has released a new version of her performing the hit song.

The live action version of Mulan will be based on the same story but won’t be a musical, instead featuring the original film’s songs as an instrumental score.

Originally due for release in theatres earlier this year, the movie will now be released on September 4, 2020, on Disney+ for a premium fee.

The film stars Liu Yifei in the title role with further casting including Donnie Yen, Jason Scott Lee, Yoson An, Gong Li and Jet Li.
