Disney has revealed a first teaser from its new animated musical movie Encanto.
Encanto will feature songs by Hamilton and Moana composer Lin-Manuel Miranda with a screenplay by Jared Bush (Zootopia, Moana) and Charise Castro Smith. Bush co-directs with Byron Howard (Tangled, Zootopia)
Set in Colombia, it tells the story of a girl named Mariana who grows up as the only non-magical member of her family.
Sharing a first video teaser (below), Miranda wrote on Twitter: “Been working on this for nearly three years. So proud of this music and this story. Can’t wait to share more.
“Super super super orgulloso. #Encanto”
The movie is currently set for release in November 2021 while casting is to be confirmed.
