Musical comedy series Schmigadoon! will debut on Apple TV+ this July
Taking its name from Broadway musical Brigadoon, is a parody of iconic Golden Age musicals which follows a couple who discover a town where the residents act as if they live in a 1940s musical.
The first two episodes will drop on Friday, 16 July 2021 in the UK and worldwide with new episodes of the six-part series debuting every Friday.
Cecily Strong and Keegan-Michael Key lead the cast as Melissa and Josh, a couple on a backpacking trip designed to reinvigorate their relationship when they discover a magical town in which everyone is living in a studio musical from the 1940s. They then discover that they can’t leave until they find “true love.”
Further casting includes Alan Cumming, Kristin Chenoweth, Aaron Tveit, Dove Cameron, Ariana DeBose, Fred Armisen, Jaime Camil, Jane Krakowski, Ann Harada and Martin Short.
Schmigadoon! is co-created by Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio. Cinco Paul serves as showrunner, and wrote all of the original music for the series.

As well as Schmigadoon!, Apple TV+ will release a proshot of Broadway and West End musical Come From Away this autumn.
