The upcoming Dear Evan Hansen movie has announced the release date for its soundtrack album.

The acclaimed stage show will come to the big screen this autumn with Ben Platt returning to the titular role.

An accompanying soundtrack cast album has been announced, featuring songs from The Greatest Showman songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.

The movie features two new numbers – Anonymous Ones and A Little Closer -but four songs from the stage version have been cut as part of rewrites – Anybody Have A Map, To Break In A Glove, Good For You and Disappear. See the full tracklist below.

Alongside Platt, the cast features Julianne Moore as Evan’s mum Heidi with Kaitlyn Dever and Colton Ryan as Zoe and Connor Murphy.

Amy Adams and Danny Pino will play Zoe and Connor’s parents with Amandla Stenberg and Nik Dodani as Alana Beck and Jared Kleinman.

For those that have never seen the stage show, Dear Evan Hansen tells the story of socially awkward teenager Evan who finds himself in the centre of a tragedy after an assignment from his therapist leads to an unfortunate misunderstanding.

The film is currently due for release on 11 October in the UK and 24 September in the US.
