First look at Tiana musical series coming to Disney+

Disney has revealed a first look at new animated musical series Tiana coming to Disney+.

Tiana is based on the 2009 animated film The Princess and the Frog with Anika Noni Rose reprising her role as Princess Tiana.

Stella Meghie (The Photograph) direct and write the series which is set to debut in 2023.

A teaser shares: “In the series, Tiana sets off for a grand new adventure as the newly crowned Princess of Maldonia, but a calling to her New Orleans past isn’t far behind.”

Further details – including an exact release date – are to be confirmed.

Meanwhile Disney also previously announced a similar spin-off to Moana.

Based on the 2016 film of the same title, Auli’i Cravalho is expected to reprise her title role for the series.

Other animated TV series announced for Disney+ are Baymax! and Zootopia+, based on Big Hero 6 and Zootopia (Zootropolis in the UK) respectively. Both will be streaming from 2022.

Meanwhile a third season of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series: has been confirmed for 2022.

“Love is an open door outside the halls of East High. Season three of the show will follow its characters to sleepaway camp for a summer of campfires, romances, and curfew-free nights,” tease Disney.
