Anything Goes with Sutton Foster comes to BBC Two and iPlayer in December

The filmed version of Anything Goes in the West End will come to BBC Two and BBC iPlayer this month.

The new revival production recently played at the Barbican Centre with Sutton Foster and Robert Lindsay leading the cast.

The show was filmed on stage and after a recent run in cinemas will be coming to TV and online.

You can catch the musical on BBC Two at 6:40PM on Boxing Day (Sunday, 26 December) and watch online via BBC iPlayer.

Kathleen Marshall directs the revival joined on the creative team by set designer Derek McLane, lighting designer Neil Austin, sound designer Simon Baker and music supervisor Stephen Ridley.

Reprising her Tony-award winning role from the 2011 Broadway production, Sutton Foster plays Reno Sweeney with Olivier Award and Tony-Award winner Robert Lindsay as Moonface Martin.

Alongside Foster and Lindsay, the cast in the filmed production features Felicity Kendal as Evangeline Harcourt and Gary Wilmot as Elisha Whitney. They’re joined by Samuel Edwards as Billy Crocker, Nicole-Lily Baisden as Hope Harcourt, Carly Mercedes Dyer as Erma and Haydn Oakley as Lord Evelyn Oakleigh.

When the SS American heads out to sea, etiquette and convention head out of the portholes as two unlikely pairs set off on the course to true love- proving that sometimes destiny needs a little help from a crew of singing sailors, a comical disguise and some good old-fashioned blackmail. This hilarious musical romp across the Atlantic, directed by the multi-award-winning Broadway director and choreographer Kathleen Marshall, features Cole Porter’s joyful score, including I Get A Kick Out of You, You’re the Top and the show stopping Anything Goes.

The production will head out on tour in 2022 visiting Bristol (11 – 16 April), Liverpool (20 – 30 April), Edinburgh (11 – 21 May) and Canterbury (24 May – 4 June) before returning for a run in London, again playing the Barbican Theatre from 15 July – 3 September.

Casting for the 2022 tour and London run are to be announced.
