Watch Welsh of the West End perform live on Britain’s Got Talent

Musical theatre group Welsh of the West End performed live on Britain’s Got Talent tonight as they competed for a place in the show’s final.

Put together by Steffan Hughes, the group features Welsh performers from shows such as Les Misérables, Phantom of the Opera and Wicked.

Welsh Of The West End originally impressed the BGT judges at their audition where they performed From Now On from The Greatest Showman.

They got four yeses from Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden and this evening performed live in the semi-final.

Those taking to the stage included Sophie Evans, Luke McCall, Jade Davies, Glain Rhys, Siwan Henderson, Rhidian Marc, Mared Williams, Tom Hier and Samantha Thomas.

For their live semi-final performance, the group belted out You Will Be Found from Dear Evan Hansen with added parts in Welsh.

Amanda said it was a “flawless and beautiful” performance while Simon described the group as “fantastic”.

The group ultimately placed Top 3 in the public vote but unfortunately didn’t make it into the final.

Hosted by Ant & Dec on ITV, Britain’s Got Talent’s live semi-finals air nightly this week ahead of the final on Sunday.

On the show acts are competing for a £250,000 cash prize and place on the bill of this year’s Royal Variety Performance.

Earlier this week saw Loren Allred win a place in the final having originally got a golden buzzer at her audition.

Loren provided the singing voice for Jenny Lind in the musical movie, performing Never Enough while Rebecca Ferguson acted the role on screen.
