Disney reportedly working on live action remake of Tangled

Disney’s Tangled is reportedly the next animated movie set for a live-action adaptation.

Following the recently released The Little Mermaid and upcoming Snow White, Disney’s latest live action remake is claimed to be its 2010 animated hit Tangled .

Reimagining the classic fairy tale of Rapunzel, Tangled featured a voice cast of Mandy Moore, Zachary Levi and Donna Murphy with award-winning songs from Alan Menken and Glenn Slater.

According to the DisInsider, a live-action film of the animation is in the works at Disney alongside its recently announced remakes of Moana and Lilo & Stitch.

Disney itself has not officially announced anything yet so we’ll have to wait and see what’s to come.

Meanwhile Tangled composer Alan Menken recently teased a possible full stage adaptation of the film.

Speaking of bringing the film to Broadway, which was previously adapted for Disney’s Cruise Line with new songs, the maestro shared: “We’re already talking about it for the stage”.

Filed with enchanting visuals and heartwarming storytelling, Tangled follows Rapunzel, a spirited young woman with impossibly long hair, as she embarks on a thrilling adventure beyond the confines of her tower. Teaming up with the roguish Flynn Rider, Rapunzel discovers the world outside and learns about her true identity.

Other live-action remakes of Disney films have included Cinderella, The Lion King, Aladdin, Dumbo, The Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast and Peter Pan & Wendy.
