Faye Tozer joining Everybody’s Talking About Jamie West End cast

Faye Tozer is to join the Everybody’s Talking About Jamie cast in the West End.

The Steps star recently appeared on Strictly Come Dancing, finishing as runner up in the BBC One series last year.

She’ll be playing the role of Miss Hedge in Everybody’s Talking About Jamie at the Apollo Theatre in London’s West End from May 6 through to August 3.

Alongside her pop career, Tozer’s stage credits include Tell Me On A Sunday, The Tailor-Made Man and Rhinestone Mondays.

The show’s official Twitter confirmed today: “We’re excited to announce that the FABULOUS @Faye_Tozer will be stepping into the role of Miss Hedge from 6th May for a STRICTLY limited season! We can’t wait to have you on the #JamieLondon team!”

Tozer will takeover from Hayley Tamaddon, who joined the show on January 28.

She tweeted her support to Faye: “Congrats lovely lady! You’re going to be fabulous!!! See you very soon! ?”

Inspired by a true story, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie has proved a hit on the West End ever since opening in 2017.

Jamie New is sixteen and lives on a council estate in Sheffield. Jamie doesn’t quite fit in. Jamie is terrified about the future. He is going to be a sensation.

Supported by his brilliant loving mum and surrounded by his friends, Jamie overcomes prejudice, beats the bullies and steps out of the darkness, into the spotlight.

The title role of Jamie New is currently played by Layton Williams (Bad Education, Beautiful People) with the rest of the cast including Rebecca McKinnis, Sejal Keshwala, Sabrina Sandhu and EastEnders’ star Shane Richie.

The musical, which features music by Dan Gillespie Sells and a book by Tom MacRae, is currently booking through until Saturday, 25 January 2020.

It was announced last year that a movie adaption was in the works, with filming scheduled to begin later this year.
