West End’s Aimie Atkinson and Tom Gribby raise £10,000 for charity with 24-hour musical marathon

A 24 hour musical marathon raised more than £10,000 for charity.

Aimie Atkinson, star of West End shows Six and Pretty Woman, was joined by West End agent and producer Tom Gribby for the special event.

The 24 hour “Musical-a-thon” started on Saturday 30th May from 6pm BST (UK Time) and went non-stop until Sunday 31st May 6pm BST (UK Time).

With donations still pouring in, the pair have currently raised £10,944 for Save the Children smashing their original £1,000 goal.

You can continue to donate via JustGiving here.

Announcing the marathon on social media last week, Atkinson wrote: “NO BREAKS, NO GAPS, ALWAYS #FULLOUT (apart from when Wolfie and Magic need to pee…) We will be singing and dancing along to some of the best Broadway and West End musicals of all time, fully live-streamed, and we want you to join in with us!

“With guest appearances from top Musical Theatre stars, dust off your dancing shoes, warm up your singing voices and join us for 24 hours of fun!

“We will need all your encouragement, support and, of course your donations, to keep going! Every hour, we will be selecting someone to join our Insta-live and sing and dance with us!”

Alongside Aktinson and Gribby, those who appeared over the 24 hours included Jerry Mitchell, Samantha Barks, Joanne Clifton, Amy Hart, Vinegar Strokes, Sam Tutty, Marisha Wallace, Alex Charles, Andy Barke, Antony Hewitt, Arun Blair-Mangat, Charlotte Elisabeth Yorke, Courtney Monsma, Gabriela Garcia
