Singin’ In The Rain has rescheduled its run at London’s Sadler’s Wells to 2021.
Chichester Festival Theatre’s Olivier Award-nominated production of the hit musical was due to play a limited five-week season from Friday July 24 2020.
It will now run July 30 through to September 5 2021. Tickets are on sale now online here.
Adapted from the hit 1950s movie of the same name, Singin’ In The Rain is set in Hollywood as silent movies make way for new talking pictures.
Featuring music and lyrics by Nacio Herb Brown and Arthur Freed and a book adapted by the film’s original screenwriters, the musical follows silent movie stars Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont, Don’s best friend Cosmo Brown and aspiring actress Kathy Selden.
Adam Cooper will reprise his role as Don Lockwood, having performed in the original Chichester Festival Theatre run in 2011 before moving with the show to the West End in 2012.
The postponed London run will reunite the original Chichester production team, with direction from Jonathan Church, Olivier Award-nominated choreography from Andrew Wright, design by Simon Higlett and lighting by Tim Mitchell.
A Singin’ in the Rain 2021 UK tour remains scheduled to go ahead from January running until June.
Full casting for the London production and tour are to be confirmed.
