Be More Chill musical ends London run amid theatre shutdown

Be More Chill has ended its run at The Other Palace in London.

The musical, based on the novel of the same name by Ned Vizzini has originally opened at the off-West End venue in February.

Featuring music and lyrics by Joe Iconis and a book by Joe Tracz, a premiere UK production was playing through to August 1 having extended its initial booking period to May 3.

But the theatre shutdown in March as a result of the ongoing health crisis saw performances brought to a halt.

With theatres now closed until at least August 3, Be More Chill has announced it has now ended its run.

A statement reads: “News that we’re kinda NOT into…

“Unfortunately, all remaining scheduled performances of BE MORE CHILL at The Other Palace have been cancelled.

“THANK YOU to all our amazing fans, including those who had purchased tickets but still haven’t seen the show. Hopefully we’ll be back in London soon, so please stop by bemorechillmusical.com and make sure you’re on our list — we can’t wait to share some good news when it comes! Stay safe, players… ????????”

Ticket holders are being contacted in due course regarding refunds.

Reviews for Be More Chill in London have been mostly positive with four stars from both The Guardian and The Times.

An original Broadway cast recording is available here.
