New musical Before After starring Rosalie Craig and Hadley Fraser to stream from Southwark Playhouse

New musical Before After is to stream live from the Southwark Playhouse in September.

Rosalie Craig (Company) and Hadley Fraser (City of Angels) will star in the piece, which will play three performances on September 25 and 26.

The new musical has a book by Timothy Knapman with music and lyrics by Stuart Matthew Price and additional lyrics by Knapman.

Real life husband and wife couple Craig and Fraser will play a couple, Ami and Ben.

A synopsis shares: “Ami meets Ben by a tree on a beautiful hillside. She recognises him instantly: they were once very much in love. But Ben doesn’t remember her at all. What went so terribly wrong in the past, and is there a chance that, in the present, these two lovers might just find their happy ever after, after all?”

Performances will stream from the venue on Friday, 25 September 2020 at 7PM, Saturday, 26 September 2020 at 2PM and Saturday, 26 September 2020 at 7PM. Tickets are £10 if booked in advance up until 20 September and £15 if booked from 21 September onwards.

You can book tickets online here.

Director Matthew Rankcom said: “There is such uncertainty for our industry at the moment, so we’re trying to explore how theatre can adapt to become more accessible and viable in the current climate.

“By streaming this rehearsed reading in real time, we hope to re-capture some of the magic of live theatre and allow our actors and their audience to forge a new kind of connection.”
