The release date of Mary Poppins' new 2020 London West End cast recording has been revealed.
Recorded live at the Prince Edward Theatre, the new cast recording be released on November 6, 2020 and is available to pre-order here.
News of the cast recording was first announced in 2019 when the recent West End revival opened.
The cast features Zizi Strallen in the title role with Charlie Stemp as Bert, Joseph Millson as George Banks and Petula Clark as the Bird Woman.
They're joined by Amy Griffiths as Winifred Banks, Claire Moore as Miss Andrew, Claire Machin as Mrs Brill, Jack Northas Robertson Ay and Barry James as Bank Chairman and Admiral Boom.
Originally opening on the West End in 2004, the Mary Poppins Musical is inspired by both the original 1960s Disney film and the books on which it's based.
Mary Poppins tells the story of the Banks family who live in a big house in London on Cherry Lane. In deed of a new nanny for children, Jane and Michael, they find a mysterious young woman is the answer to their prayers, but in the most peculiar way.
The stage adaption features music and lyrics from Richard M. Sherman, Robert B. Sherman, George Stiles and Anthony Drewe with a book by Julian Fellowes.
The new revival started performances at the Prince Edward Theatre in November 2019 before performances were paused in March as a result of the ongoing pandemic. The show is expected to resume in 2021.
